Favorite Thing About WVU and Statler College

My favorite thing about WVU is the sense of community. Even though it’s a large university, it never feels overwhelming because people genuinely support one another, whether it's faculty, staff, or fellow students. I’ve found lifelong mentors, inspiring peers, and a place where I feel seen and valued. That kind of environment makes a huge difference, especially when you're far from home.

My favorite thing about Statler College is how committed it is to student growth beyond the classroom. From research opportunities and hands-on projects to supportive faculty and professional development programs, Statler creates an environment where students are challenged, encouraged, and equipped to lead. It’s a place where you’re not just earning a degree, you’re building a future.

Advice for Prospective Students

Take every opportunity to get involved in Statler College and its organizations. Don’t be afraid to step into new spaces or leadership roles, you’re not expected to know everything from the start. Growth comes from challenging yourself and being open to learning. Some of the most rewarding experiences, both personally and professionally, begin when you say yes to something unfamiliar.
