Favorite Thing About WVU and Statler College
My favorite thing about WVU is the community that it's brought me. I tend to be more introverted, but throughout my time here, I've taken advantage of so many opportunities to go outside my comfort zone. Whether that's been through joining different student organizations, meeting new people, or taking adventures with friends, I'm grateful for it all! My favorite thing about Statler is the range of opportunities for involvement students have. Through Statler, I have been able to join a social/professional sorority, a national organization specific to Chemical Engineering, and a national organization that works to uplift women in engineering. These are only three of the dozens of involvement opportunities that Statler offers, and they have been an integral part of my time here!
Advice for Prospective Students
Find out what opportunities are offered, and then figure out what you're interested in as soon as you can. Joining clubs and organizations as early in your college experience as possible will only enhance it. It can be intimidating to join a group that is already established, but you can't let that stop you — those students want that organization to be able to continue, and it can't without people who are passionate about it!
