One of the best ways to learn more about the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources and West Virginia University is to plan a virtual visit and to speak with current students. We are excited for our fall recruitment events! You'll have options for how you would like to learn more about the College.

We will have an IN-PERSON event in the fall. Save the Date! Our open house will take place on March 23.

At the events, you will:

  • Meet current students
  • Learn about opportunities to become involved and compete in student projects
  • Meet the Dean and faculty
  • Learn about Statler college admissions and scholarships
  • Have all of your questions answered by our students and enrollment team

In-Person Campus Tours

We encourage any student interested in engineering or computer science at WVU to come for a visit.

  • Statler College campus tours are open to all high school and transfer students
  • Learn about what to expect your first year, get all of your college-related questions answered, and see our facilities
  • Meet with professional recruitment staff and/or current Statler Ambassadors
  • Statler College campus tours take approximately one hour
  • We will provide you with a self-guided walking tour packet if you are not scheduled for a general campus visit with the Visitors Center

VIRTUAL ONE-ON-ONE MEETING

If you would like to have a virtual meeting with a Statler College staff member or student ambassador, please complete our request form, and we will reach out to you as soon as possible.

The academic deposit saves your place in our incoming class and allows you to continue the admissions process. You cannot pay this deposit until you have been admitted.

Register for New Student Orientation

Next is NSO, where you’ll register for your first semester classes, hear from faculty and students and learn to navigate campus like a pro. Registration for NSO typically opens in March.

Julie Gruber

Julie coordinates our K-12 outreach program including the Engineering Challenge Camps in the summer. She also manages our student ambassador program. Julie joined WVU in 2022 after 5 years as a middle school science teacher.

Norman is the administrative associate in the outreach and recruitment office helping with communications and setting up appointments.  He also helps manage the student support staff.

Since 2012, our Statler Ambassador program has been an important part of the recruitment team in our college.
