The Statler College Career and Professional Development Center is dedicated to equipping engineering, computing, and technology students as well as alumni with the skills, guidance, and connections needed to achieve career success. Through personalized support, professional development, and strategic partnerships, we help students build confidence, form meaningful connections, and launch rewarding careers in the global job market.

By working closely with faculty, employers, alumni, and university partners, we provide comprehensive career readiness resources, including experiential learning simulations, career seminars, internships, co-ops, and full-time job opportunities. We also offer a variety of employer and alumni engagement experiences such as information sessions, on-campus interviews, resume and interview workshops, classroom visits, networking events, and more.

Mission Statement​

Our mission is to empower engineering, computing, and technology students and alumni to achieve their professional goals through personalized career guidance, skill development, and strategic networking. We are dedicated to fostering career readiness with expert resume reviews, job search strategies, interview mastery, and professional development. By collaborating with faculty, employers, alumni, and university partners, our goal is to provide comprehensive career support that builds confidence, fosters meaningful connections, and guides students toward rewarding careers and professional success in the global job market.​

CPDC Students | Alumni Services

The Statler College is excited to announce the development of its new Career & Professional Development Center (CPDC) to support engineering, computing, and technology students and alumni in enhancing their career readiness skills. The CPDC will offer specialized services through a variety of formats, including one-on-one appointments (both in-person and virtual), classroom presentations, seminars, Industry Day Events, company site visits, and more.

Services provided by the CPDC include:​

Personalized Support for Statler College Students and Alumni​

  • In-person and virtual appointments​
  • Career Exploration is tailored to engineering, computing, and technology majors​
  • Establish career action plans​
  • Review of career documents with follow-up recommendations​

Networking and Professional Development​

  • Craft a compelling elevator pitch​
  • Build professional connections via LinkedIn and other platforms​
  • Informational Interview Instructions​
  • Succeed at career fairs and navigating the job market​

Practical Career Preparation and Resource Management​

  • Job search strategies, including simulations, experiential learning, job shadowing, on-campus and off-campus jobs, internships, co-ops, volunteer opportunities, and more​
  • Access to professional attire and headshot photos​
  • Mock interview practice​
  • Federal/Government application guidance​

Long-term Career Planning​

  • Evaluating job offers and negotiating salaries​
  • Guidance on personal/teaching statements, CVs, and graduate school applications​
  • Planning professional development strategies for the workforce​

Tailored Educational Opportunities​

Collaboration and Communication​

  • Partnering with faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and university departments​
