About the 2018/19 Statler Reps
Makenna Slack, from Hurricane, WV, is a sophomore studying biomedical engineering. She hopes to create more academic opportunities and support for the Statler College students, while also focusing on inclusivity and involvement of students on both the Evansdale and Downtown campuses. Nick Shoemaker, from Bluefield, VA, is a junior majoring in industrial engineering and biometric systems, with a minor Business Administration. As your representative, Nick is working to increase student involvement on campus, increase student awareness of changes at WVU that affect them, advocate for the interests of the Statler College students, and promote SGA's presence on campus. He is involved with Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, is the treasurer for the Student Society for the Advancement of Biometrics, and an Executive Board Member in the National Society of Leadership and Success. He is also a member of the Honors College, Phi Sigma Theta-National Honor Society, and the Mountaineer Maniacs.
