Statler SGA Representatives

The Statler College has two Student Government Representatives as part of the Student Assembly. They are elected in the SGA Fall Elections. Below you can meet the 2018/19 Statler Representatives.

How can the College Reps Help you?

As Statler College representatives, they want to make sure that Statler students have the best experience as possible here at WVU.

You can also feel free to stop them to talk, if you see them on campus!

If you would like to learn more about  SGA, please contact your College reps or come to one of the weekly Assembly meetings, which are at 7:30 on Wednesdays at Hatfield's in the Mountainlair.

About the 2018/19 Statler Reps

Makenna Slack, from Hurricane, WV, is a sophomore studying biomedical engineering. She hopes to create more academic opportunities and support for the Statler College students, while also focusing on inclusivity and involvement of students on both the Evansdale and Downtown campuses. Overall, she aims to make a large university like WVU feel small and like home. She is involved in the Biomedical Engineering Society as the fundraising chair and is a member of the Honors College.

Nick Shoemaker, from Bluefield, VA, is a junior majoring in industrial engineering and biometric systems, with a minor Business Administration. As your representative, Nick is working to increase student involvement on campus, increase student awareness of changes at WVU that affect them, advocate for the interests of the Statler College students, and promote SGA's presence on campus. He is involved with Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, is the treasurer for the Student Society for the Advancement of Biometrics, and an Executive Board Member in the National Society of Leadership and Success. He is also a member of the Honors College, Phi Sigma Theta-National Honor Society, and the Mountaineer Maniacs.
