Honors Day

Interim Dean Earl Scime announced the recipients of the College’s Outstanding Teaching, Research and Advising Awards for the 2019-2020 academic year through Statler College social media channels @wvustatler.

He also announced and congratulated the Statler College Honor Students for the 2019-2020 academic year through Statler College social media channels @wvustatler.

The Honors Day ceremony has been cancelled. Students who are graduating with Latin Honors will receive an email from the Statler College Student Services in late April with instructions for obtaining their Latin Honor Cords. If a student is unable to receive their cords in person, they will be issued via mail.

All honors graduates are reminded to bring their cords with them to Commencement. Cap, gowns, tassels and cords WILL NOT be available for distribution at Commencement.

In the event that we are able to reschedule the Honors Day ceremony later in the semester, all students and faculty will be notified.


The WVU Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will be hosting our annual Academic Achievement Recognition Ceremony in conjunction with WVU's Week of Honors.

Our event will be held on Friday, April 3, 2020, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Erickson Alumni Center's ballrooms. There will be free parking outside of the Erickson Alumni Center. Light refreshments will be provided after the event.

The ceremony will start promptly at 1:30 p.m. Students should arrive at the Erickson Alumni Center before 1:00 pm. to check-in.

To help us better plan for this event, please RSVP. The deadline to RSVP is Monday, March 30, 2020.

Note: Due to capacity issues, we ask that you limit your number of guests to two people in addition to the student being honored.

Statler College staff members will be on-site to assist guests.
