The WVU SPE student chapter has been recognized for succeeding in fulfilling SPE’s mission by serving local members in industry engagement, operations in planning, community involvement, professional development and innovation. This prestigious award is the second-highest honor a SPE student organization may receive and is awarded to only 20 percent of student chapters around the world.
“The SPE Student Chapter officers and adviser are honored to receive such a prestigious award,” said Sam Ameri, chair and professor of the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. “We are truly humbled by this recognition and we will continue to uphold the high standards of this award.”
SPE, a not-for-profit professional society, is a key resource for students and professionals to share technical knowledge related to the oil and gas exploration and production industry and provide services through publications, events, training courses and online resources.
