MEDIA ADVISORY: The National Mine Rescue Association - Post 5 will host a mine rescue contest

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.—

WHAT: The National Mine Rescue Association - Post 5 will host a mine rescue contest.

WHO: Representatives from 20 different mine rescue teams will compete in a two-day mine rescue, first aid, pre-shift and bench competition. The contest will utilize mining regulatory agencies to judge these teams. These judges represent West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and federal personnel.

The following people will be available for interviews: Joshua Brady, Interim Director, WVU Mining and Industrial Extension, and Post 5 Mine Rescue Association president

WHEN: Contest will be held from Tuesday July 30, 2019 to Thursday August 1, 2019 from 8:00 am – 3:00pm
