IMSE students place second in international competition
Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering graduate students Alireeza Ebrahimvandi and Mahsa Kiani surpassed 26 teams from around the world to earn second place in the Society of Health Systems FlexSim Simulation Competition.
Ebrahimvandi and Kiani worked to solve a real-world
healthcare situational case study using FlexSim’s simulation software. The duo
presented their simulation results at the Healthcare Systems Process
Improvement Conference on Thursday, February 18, in Houston, Texas. The award
included a travel stipend and $1,500.
