Ray is a Senior Academic Advisor in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University (WVU). He advises sophomore-senior engineering students in the Statler College Advising Center.
Prior to joining the Statler College, Ray previously worked in the field of international education for 13 years where he helped students from a variety of STEM-related majors incorporate study abroad into their degree programs, including several years at WVU. In his previous position he also developed a statewide partnership with the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, which expanded access to study abroad throughout the state of West Virginia. In addition, Ray has previously administered financial aid programs, advised first-generation college students, and served as a campus coordinator for the National Student Exchange.
Originally from Tucker County, WV, Ray has been to nearly 30 countries and has lived and traveled throughout the United States.
