After receiving dual Bachelor degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from WVU, he entered WVU's direct track PhD program in Aerospace Engineering. As a graduate student, he was a member of ASEL where he researched computer vision topics including object detection and description in 3D point clouds. During his undergraduate and graduate studies at WVU, Dr. Rhodes was a member of the Steel Drum Ensemble for 18 semesters and the WVU Marching Band for 3 years. He competed in the WV Collegiate Business Plan Competition and won top prize and received grant money to start his business Neighborhood Kombuchery.
Service and Outreach
Dr. Rhodes is the MAE Undergraduate Program Coordinator. He sits as a member of the Mechanical Engineering Curriculum Committee, Aerospace Engineering Curriculum Committee, MAE Laboratory Committee, and Statler College Scholarship Committee. He is involved with recruitment and retention of students in the MAE department.
