A West Virginia University engineering student was recently awarded a scholarship from the North Central West Virginia section of the American Society of Highway Engineers.

Allison Givens, a civil engineering student from Nettie, received a $1,500 scholarship to be used toward pursuing an engineering career in the highway industry. Givens currently serves as the outreach coordinator for the WVU Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is also an active member of the WVU section of the Society of Women Engineers and CRU, formally known as Campus Crusade for Christ International.
Givens will be recognized during an awards banquet at the Bridgeport Conference Center on Thursday, April 20.
