Jay Wilhelm

Research Assistant Professor - Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Dr. Jay Wilhelm is a Research Assistant Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department at West Virginia University. His work is mainly centered on systematic modeling and design of flight vehicles and the associated automatic control systems and autonomy. At WVU, he has been working on several US Army funded projects to investigate UAVs and has received additional funding from industry and through SBIR/STTRs. Over the past two years he has acquired funding from various sources. Dr. Wilhelm has taught automatic control systems for mechanical and aerospace applications, advanced mechatronics that includes a laboratory, a senior level capstone design course focused on the ASME Human Powered Vehicle Challenge, and is the faculty mentor for the WVU Experimental Rocketry club.
